Originally from Albuquerque NM, Rishi studied biomedical engineering at Boston University before working as a synthetic biologist for eight years. He specializes in pooled library construction and screening at scale, developing biosensors, selections, and novel CRISPR tools. He also has experience in strain domestication.

Artistically, his work is inspired by the natural world, from species conservation to speculative evolution. He works in physical and digital media, featuring bold colors and detailed linework.
